IP management when engaging external partners
Intellectual property (IP) management is an important consideration when working with external partners. For commercialisation, IP management and protection is critically important, as is confidentiality.
Why is IP management important for your research?
IP needs to be managed, so that it doesn’t get into the wrong hands or is used for non-intended purposes. It’s also important to recognise and provide attribution where appropriate, to IP creators and/or owners. Without proper IP management, this may not happen.
From an academic researcher perspective, management of IP is central to maintaining the ability to publish, and for teaching and research purposes.
