University Consultancy at 伊人直播app
All consultancy work undertaken through the University — whether by an individual or a team — is classified as University Consultancy.
Key Features and benefits of University Consultancy
- Applies existing knowledge to meet external needs
- Consultancy is not research: there can be no creation of new knowledge
- Client-owned outcomes: results are usually confidential and owned by the client
- Enhance reputation : Raise the profile of both individual consultants and the University.
- Build connections with private and public sector organisations, which can lead to impactful research collaborations
- Increased revenue for the University, through additional government funding via HEIF.
- Enrich Teaching & Research: Gain practical insights that can be used in your teaching and learning.
- Earn Additional Income: A standard split of 80% to the consultant and 20% to school for payments made to payroll – minus NI and other standard deductions. Alternatively, payments can be made to your SDA account if you are an academic staff member.
How do I start a University Consultancy project:
- Contact your Business Relationship Manager in KEEP for advice and guidance with scoping and pricing the project. Consultancy must be priced at a fair market rate. While full economic costing (fEC) is required, minimum pricing rates are available to guide pricing.
- Discuss your proposal with your Head of School or Directorate for preliminary approval and complete the University Consultancy Permissions and Payment Form
- Send the completed form by email to consultancy@reading.ac.uk
- The consultancy team will review the form and confirm Head of School or Directorate approval before undertaking due diligence on the client and begin project set up.
- Only once you have received confirmation that the contract has been agreed and signed can the project begin. Research Accounts will contact you to advise of the project 'J' code.
Incurring project costs :
- If you have expenses that have been included in the University Consultancy Permissions and Payment form, these can be claimed in line with the university expenses policy and allocated to the 'J' code for the project.
On project completion:
- Email consultancy@reading.ac.uk and your research accounts assistant to confirm the project has successfully completed. Only at this point will we invoice the client.
- Once payment is received from the client, funds will be distributed as requested on the University Consultancy Permissions and Payment form. *If you are receiving funds by SDA, this will be actioned in accordance with School processes.
