Typically, a four-year course, you’ll study for your undergraduate degree for three years and complete your integrated master’s in the fourth year.

You’ll have the opportunity to take advanced modules in your subject area, enhancing your experience and preparing you for your future career.

Fees and funding

An integrated master鈥檚 degree can potentially be a more accessible way to fund postgraduate study.

With an integrated master's, your tuition fees will remain the same throughout the duration of your programme, so even in your final year you'll pay the undergraduate fee.
If you're a UK student, you're also eligible for the same undergraduate student finance in your final year. This includes maintenance loans to cover living costs.
While there is now a capped master's government loan at £12,471, the fees of a standalone master's vary from course to course. The master's loan is meant to cover both tuition fees and living costs, so in some cases the integrated option is more financially viable because you can also receive a maintenance loan.

Remember that funding for undergraduate and integrated master's programmes is different to funding for UK master's students. While it's typically more cost-effective to do an integrated master's, all circumstances are different and we recommend considering the financing for your personal situation.
