Raising the Pulse Study - Investigating The Impact Of Faba Bean Rich Foods On Iron Status, Postprandial Lipaemia And Satiety In Adults*
The main purpose of this study is to determine how consuming bread enriched with pulses (in the form of pulse flour) compared with conventional white bread influences the amount of iron absorbed in healthy males and females. Secondary aims are determining the effects of these different breads on blood fats and sugar (glucose) and on feelings of fullness (also known as satiety).
Coffee Bioequivalence Trial -
Comparing the pharmacokinetics of bioactive components and physiological effects of consuming encapsulated instant coffee versus traditional instant coffee brewed in water. *
The main outcome will be to assess whether the active ingredients in coffee (bioactive components) are handled by the body in the same way (e.g. absorbed at the same rate) when consumed in the form of capsules versus a drink. In addition, we will also aim to investigate the impact of coffee on cardiometabolic health outcomes.
SODIAT-2 - The SODIAT project aims to identify the best new tools for accurately recording food and drink intake, helping scientists to understand diet and health more precisely than ever before. In the SODIAT-2 study, we’re remotely testing a combination of tools—urine samples, blood samples, wearable cameras, and online food and drink questionnaires—in a group of 133 adults.*
